The Reminder You Never Set: How Vesta Tracks Expirations and Filter Changes

The AC filter has a date written on the side of the box. Most people read it once, install the filter, and never think about it again. Three months later it's a vague memory: was that this spring, or last fall?
Insurance and warranty dates have the same problem in reverse. The information is sitting in a PDF you uploaded once and never opened again. The renewal deadline doesn't announce itself. It just becomes a lapsed policy the day something happens.
Vesta Binder now reads for these dates and turns them into reminders, without any extra data entry.
Two kinds of reminders
Some dates are just things you need to know about. A warranty expiration, an insurance renewal, a registration deadline. Vesta marks these as Info reminders, a heads-up with no action attached. When the date passes, you acknowledge it and move on.
Other dates require something to happen. Replace the AC filter. Service the water heater. Check the propane tank. These become Task reminders. Mark one done and Vesta asks how often it repeats, then sets the next one automatically.
Finding the dates without being asked
Upload a document and Vesta reads it. An insurance card with an expiration date becomes an Info reminder. A well pump manual that says "annual maintenance recommended" becomes a Task reminder set 12 months out. A note about your septic tank mentioning the last pump date becomes a Task due three years later.
Each reminder shows exactly where it came from and why Vesta set it, so nothing appears on your list without you understanding it.
What it looks like in practice
A homeowner uploads documents for a new property. Within minutes, Vesta has surfaced: a water filter replacement due based on the 3-5 month interval in the manual, a propane tank check to schedule when the gauge drops below 20%, an auto insurance renewal coming up in October, and a septic pumping due in April 2027 based on the last service date in the records.
None of that required a form. No data entry, no manual date picking. The information was already in the documents.
When something comes due
A push notification and an email arrive before a reminder is due, linking straight to it. For a task, mark it complete and choose the next interval, 30, 60, 90 days, or whatever the document specifies. Vesta remembers your last choice and uses it as the default next time.
Where it lives
A Reminders tab on mobile and a Reminders page on the web show everything in one place: what's due, what's coming up, and what Vesta has spotted in your documents. Notifications can be turned on or off from profile settings.
The information was already there. Vesta just notices it before you have to.
